I often found myself having to convert files back and forth between the cp/dv format and the old cpio format, and naturally I ended up doing this manually. cpioFormatConvert is a small program that tries to automate the process of doing this conversion, and it does a fairly good job of it. I'd been using it for a few years now and I haven't had a single complaint, so I'm happy to give it a positive review. Bottom line cpioFormatConvert is a very small program that does a pretty decent job of converting between the cp and cpio formats. I've used it on many occasions and I haven't had a single problem. You can set the refreshrates to the "custom" setting and the 3dfx card will change it as needed to avoid tearing, as well as handle all 2D or 3D mode changes properly. It will also detect if the framebuffer is running faster then the refreshrate, and stop drawing anything until the card is in sync. But if your refreshrate is different then the video cards refreshrate, then it will fix the problem. This will fix the problems with Windows 2000 and XP as the card is not detecting a proper refreshrate. You can choose to restore the registry settings on a reboot, or save them as a preset.
